[Toxie-Radd]

Great game, and almost perfect

This game was beautifully done, from the backgrounds to the weapons. Burning zombies to death (again?) never got old, and the cutscenes were really fun. But, as others have done, I quit after the first 10 waves or so thinking that the game had no real ending.

In fact, for a little bit, I thought this was a conscious (yet boring) choice on your part. Maybe you thought about what happen if he DID make it outside...

How could a zombie live a normal life in the real world? Will he try to find a nice wife and settle down to raise 2.1 undead children in a suburb somewhere? As a felon, it'd be tough for him to find a steady job, so undoubtedly he'd turn to drug-dealing or pimping. Maybe he could be a bouncer.

But these questions seem irrelevant, since you DID make an ending, buried somewhere under 20 waves of increasingly boring levels.

But everything else was really well done, and this is easily one of the best zombie-survival games I've played on newgrounds.

[Free Will - The Game]

Very Punny

I liked the graphics and the animation, but this wasn't anything special. And what the hell was "Domras" talking about in his review? People naturally assume that "free will" means freedom of choice because, well, that's what it's always meant. That's not a bad thing, and in fact, the pun at the end depends upon it.

[Heavy Weapons]

Great game

Great graphics, fun aesthetic style, and nice sfx. However, the weapons' prices often didn't correlate with their usefulness-- many of the stronger, more expensive weapons had such long reload times and such short usage times that using a weaker weapon made more sense. I found myself using the "Arc" gun more than anything else.

In the future, decreasing the reload penalty for higher weapons would be a good idea, if a sequel should ever come out.

A lot of fun, but the AI is pretty stupid....

Good

There are certainly improvements to the Armed with Wings engine, but not enough difference I'm afraid. Some of the sprite were the exactly the same, and the all-black visual style is wearing thin for me. I was hoping for a more noticeable difference between this and AW, and this didn't quite deliver. This was very well put together, and the animation is great as always. (PS: Ninjas don't smoke cigarettes, since they decrease lung capacity...even if it makes them look "cooler")

[Survival Lab]

Surprisingly fun...

For a game that initially seems like it would be monotonous, this was very, very fun. Even though you're in the same room the entire time, the upgrades vary the gameplay up enough to make it interesting. The upgrades actually felt like rewards as well, which is good. The enemies are all pretty interesting as well. Great job!

[Patapon 2 The Art Of War]

Unplayable

The visuals were nice and the animation was smooth, but this game is pretty unplayable. The beat and the visual representation of the beat didn't match up, and the controls are not intuitive. I hope the real game is easier to play...

[Darkbase: incubation]

Great art

Great artwork, the engine is solid, and the atmosphere is fitting--

But you've broken one of the foundational rules of game-creation: players should never feel like the game is unfair. I often found myself being injured by things totally cloaked in darkness, and it wasn't fun knowing that there was nothing I could do to prevent it.

The darkness is great for the atmosphere, but you need to make the monsters a little more visually discernible from the background (or at least make it so that the darkness isn't COMPLETELY black).

[Foreign Creature]

Awesome

Great animation, interesting puzzles, and excessive gore is always a plus. However, some of the puzzles were simply too out-there...they weren't intuitive at all, and the logic made little sense. That meant point and clicking everything in the room in a desperate attempt to find something that could be affected.

Also, the Professor needs to use a spell checker.

Great idea, and fun to play...looking for to the sequel!

[How I Buy Petrol?]

Amazing

This was hilarious-- the guy from the Petrol store was the best part. The music was really fitting too...bravo.
