Alright....

It's good, but gets pretty monotonous fast. It might be better if there were a larger play area, and perhaps some environmental objects to use against the zombies (exploding barrels, or something like that).

Also, shooting the zombies wasn't terribly satisfying since there was no change in their momentum when you shot them-- if I shoot a zombie with a shotgun, I'd like to see it fall backwards a bit. This would add to the realism of the physics, and would also provide a little reward for a direct hit (the reward being a few extra moments before the zombie is on top of you).

But nice look, and fun enouhg.

Pretty good

Pretty innovative style and gameplay, but as others have said, the screen scrolling stinks.

Also, picking up arrows while being shot at is almost impossible. The clicking-area on the arrows is tiny, and the player moves SO slowly. In fact, using the sword-slash is the only way to really move around. Historically, I'm pretty sure samurais could run-- they were more about not-dying as opposed to looking stoic.

But otherwise, interesting game.

It' alright...

I like the visual style and animations, but the actual gameplay could use some revision. The vulcan is pretty useless, considering how quickly you run out of ammo. In fact, the entire recharging-ammo is incredibly frustrating.
Far too often I find myself out of ammo, waiting a few seconds to shoot a few measly bullets. It'd be better if ammo recharged automatically, AND enemies dropped ammo cells that would help fill up ammo caches.

Also, incredibly repetitive.

As everyone has said....

Repetitive. Hack and slash, jump. But the game engine is really solid, so it wouldn't take much to make this more interesting-- maybe some varying platform heights, another move or two. The fact that the fight zone is too linear is my biggest gripe.

Also, the player's sight radius is mostly behind him when he runs...which is kind of useless. I'd rather be able to see where I'm going, which would be more realistic, anyway. And the second boss is much harder than the first-- too steep of a learning curve.

But again, the engine and animation is really, really good, and I don't think it'd be that much more work to make this awesome.

Amazing

I think you know what you've done here-- great job!

Good...

Extremely repetitive, this game quickly became quite boring...but the twisted and aesthetically beautiful qualities warrant a high score.

Great game, but

Great game, but the second boss was far too difficult compared to the first.

First of all, why is it that you can try to defeat the boss as many times as you like, but your ammo does not return to its previous amount? Once you're out, you're out, even when you're given a second chance.

Also, the bombs that the second boss uses have bad clipping-- even when I clearly jump over them, they explode, like I'm hitting some invisible marker that extends farther out than the bomb itself (which I probably am).

And the main character gets thrown around too much with the second boss-- I can't tell you how many times I was THIS close to killing him, then a bomb threw me off the side of the screen. Poop.

But good, otherwise.

Pretty good, but...

Pretty good, but the fluidity of the jumping was excessive. I didn't like having to trade control for jumping distance...there were just too many instances where I tried to slow down in mid-air to land on a platform, but the control weren't responsive enough. I'd check out "N"-- that's a good example of long-jumping ability with perfect control. Great job otherwise.

Mildly entertaining

It's good for what it is. The only problem I have with it is that the pixel-detection was pretty lousy...I'd dodge a bullet, and even though it clearly would've gone past me it somehow hits me and explodes, and I lose health...Bummer.

Great as usual

This was a great addition to the "Shift" series, but you should have made the newspapers' importance clearer during gameplay. Though the introduction of a plot is interesting and funny, it's not a big enough reward to make getting newspapers a priority. Thus, when I reached the end and found that the newspapers I missed were vital to beating the game, I didn't have the desire to go back and redo the levels that I had done before. But otherwise, good game.
